WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Wichita students are learning from Hispanic doctors and educators, who work to inspire young people to follow the same career paths.
The Kansas College of Osteopathic Medicine and Latino Medical Student Association organized the Hispanic Journeys to Leadership panel to share advice with high school and college students on how to start a career in the medical field.
One student said learning from Hispanic professionals shows that there are opportunities for everyone.
“I’m going to be the first doctor in my family, and there are so many people that align with that story, where we’ve never been able to see someone who looks like us being in these positions or live these lives, and it’s just incredible to see that,” Alex Palacios said.
