The Arizona State Sun Devils might be missing their brightest star this weekend.

Quarterback Sam Leavitt is unlikely to suit up against the University of Utah on Saturday night, according to ASU’s latest injury report.

After being listed as “probable” on the Sun Devils’ first availability released on Wednesday night, Leavitt’s status was downgraded to “doubtful” on Thursday’s availability report.

According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, sixth-year senior quarterback Jeff Sims will likely start in Leavitt’s place on Saturday night in Salt Lake City.

That’s good news for the Utes, especially as they look for their first Big 12 Conference win at Rice-Eccles Stadium since joining the league last summer.
