MEMPHIS, Tenn. - U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said Thursday that the Memphis Safe Task Force has arrested 562 people and seized 144 illegal guns since operations started over 10 days ago.
Bondi made the announced on X, formerly Twitter, adding that "federal law enforcement officers continue to do heroic work."

The announcement came a day before the National Guard was expected to arrive in Memphis. In a social media post, state Rep. Torrey Harris (D-Memphis) said the guardsmen would "serve in supportive, non-enforcement roles such as community safety patrols, traffic control, and site security, assisting local law-enforcement, but not replacing them."
