Forced to leave because of her gender identity, a sailor found a new way to serve

"My country, my Navy, did not want my service simply because of who I was, but service to country is not defined by wearing a uniform. When I look in the mirror, I see the face of someone who has lived up to the traditions of the naval service and tries daily to fulfill their oath."
