CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two public comment hearings and another to take evidence are scheduled in October into a 6.97 percent rate increase sought by Black Diamond Power Co.
The Public Service Commission of West Virginia scheduled public comment hearings for 5:30 p.m. October 14 at the Clay County Circuit Courtroom in the Clay County Courthouse, 246 Main St., Clay; and 5:30 p.m. October 21 at Mullens City Hall, 316 Moran Ave., Mullens.
The evidentiary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 31 at the PSC headquarters, 201 Brooks St., Charleston.
If approved as filed on August 1, the proposal would increase the average monthly residential bill by $11.12, based on the usage of 834 kilowatt hours. Black Diamond asked to make the new rates effective on December 1.
