The John Ireland Boulevard Bridge in St. Paul is coming down this weekend, and it's going to cause a closure along a section of I-94 in the capital.
Beginning at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, westbound I-94 will be closed between I-35E and Dale Street, while eastbound I-94 will be closed between Highway 280 and University Avenue E.
The closure will last through 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 13.
Per details from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, the detour will reroute westbound traffic to I-35E, Highway 36, and Highway 280. Eastbound traffic will detour to Highway 280, Highway 36, and I-35E.
During the closure, the four-lane John Ireland Boulevard Bridge, built in 1967, will be disassembled.
