MOUNT VERNON, Ohio — Federal immigration agents raided a Mexican restaurant in Knox County on Thursday, according to officials with the City of Mount Vernon.

City officials said they became aware of a federal Immigrant and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation happening at Pancho’s Tacos, located at 110 Mount Vernon Ave., around 12:30 p.m. It’s unclear how many people may have been detained during the operation.

The city said officials, police and the law director’s office “did not receive communication or coordination” from ICE regarding the timing, scope or nature of the operation.

City officials said they are committed to seeking more information from the agencies involved.
