CLEVELAND — The FBI Cleveland Division says 125 people have been arrested and 88 weapons seized in Northern Ohio as part of a nationwide summer operation targeting violent crime.
Between late June and September, FBI Cleveland and its federal, state and local partners took part in “Summer Heat,” a coordinated national initiative aimed at dismantling violent gangs, arresting fugitives, and removing illegal weapons and drugs from communities.
In total, the local effort resulted in 125 arrests, 54 indictments, and the recovery of 49 kilograms of drugs. Nineteen alleged "violent gang members" were among those taken into custody, according to the FBI.
