CLEVELAND, Ohio (WKBN) - The FBI Cleveland Division made numerous arrests over the past three months as part of the “Summer Heat” operation -- the FBI’s nationwide effort to crush violent crime.

FBI Cleveland, which oversees the 40 northern-most counties in the state, announced it made 125 arrests under the Summer Heat initiative, including the seizure of 88 weapons, 49 kilos of drugs, the arrest of 19 violent gang members and 54 indictments.

“FBI Cleveland is fully committed to crushing violent crime in our region,” said Greg Nelsen, special agent in charge of the FBI Cleveland division. “Summer Heat shows that surging resources with our state and local law enforcement partners, as well as our other federal partners, can have a significant impact on reducing crime.”
