EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State University and the National Alliance on Mental Illness Lansing are joining forces to bring awareness to mental health.

The two groups held an event Thursday night on MSU’s campus to bridge the gap between researchers, and people living with mental health conditions.

Organizers said mental health is often stigmatized, which is something they’re hoping to change.

“Some people might be uneasy about the idea of seeking support,” said Sophia Futo with MSU’s Mental Health Research Connect.

Mental illness affects people from all backgrounds, and walks of life, and even if you are not struggling with mental health, your friends, family, or peers could be.
