DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — WILLIAMSBURG-BASED Watermark Capital is seeking city approval for its controversial plan to merge the interiors of four landmarked Greek Revival rowhouses at 182-188 Duffield St. into a single structure as part of a planned 30-story, 345-foot tower on the site, Crain’s New York reports.

The four 19th-century homes, originally located on Johnson Street, were relocated to Duffield in 1990 during the MetroTech redevelopment. Watermark’s proposal includes 99 apartments, community and retail space, and a green roof terrace. The project site sits near the landmarked Harriet and Thomas Truesdell House at 227 Duffield St., a former abolitionist residence linked to the Underground Railroad, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.
