BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Police officers who responded to the scene of a crash caused by Erie County Chief of Narcotics D.J. Granville and who were placed on leave in connection with the case a year later will not be facing charges, the Niagara County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
Buffalo Police Lt. Lucia Esquilin, Granville's sister-in-law who was also under investigation for her actions that night, will also not be facing charges.
On April 11, 2024, Granville hit six cars and damaged seven on Buffalo's West Side, causing over $60,000 in damage. It is believed he was on prescribed medication at the time.
In August, he pleaded guilty reckless driving and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. He was sentenced to community service and was suspended from his position wi
