ST. PETERS, Mo. – St. Charles County paramedics have started training on a new breakthrough medical device called Life Flow.
St. Peters Missouri, held a staged mass casualty event to introduce a new lifesaving Life Flow tool on Thursday, Oct. 9
The hand-held device will allow paramedics to rapidly perform blood transfusions on patients within the ambulance or on-site.
First responders say this tool will make a vital difference in improving survival outcomes for patients.
“Systems were able to get that blood up to nineteen minutes faster than they would if we just transported them to the hospital,” says Deputy Chief John Romeo.
Life Flow is packed with red blood cells, and plasma is a game-changer for improving patient survivability from severe blood loss and hemorrhaging.
