Fort Bend County Commissioners will choose a new, redistricted voter map on Monday.

The vote comes after a rare, mid-decade round of redistricting that sparked debate among commissioners for months. Republicans on the court have driven the redistricting process, arguing that the current map is illegally based on race .

Each member of the commissioners court appointed two people to a citizens' redistricting committee, which was tasked with designing and recommending new voter maps for the commissioners.
