RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - There were no shortages of bikes at Mary Munford Elementary School as dozens of students participated in the school’s Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day.

Students and parents gathered at Movement Church early Friday morning, strapping on helmets before making the nearly one-mile journey to school together. The group formed what one student described as “a whole big bike” that “looks like a really big train.”

“You have your friends and you can bike next to your friends and it is really cool,” another student said.

Long-time Principal Greg Muzik was there to greet the students with a big smile and wave. Normally, he would be riding alongside the students. This year, though, he watched from the sidelines, as he continues to recover from a scary bike accident.
