ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Police in Anderson are making sure their school resource officers are ready to respond to any situation.
“What we all say is that all the technology in the world is not going to help in a situation like this. You've got to invest in your people first. We take it a step further,” said Shannon Piller, Anderson School District Five Executive Director for Safety and Security.
Anderson School District Five is putting school resource officers and EMS to the test. First responders participated in a school shooter training exercise. They must use their best practices to control the scene as if it were a real casualty.
“I work for the school district. I'm also a parent of two children in the school district. I take this very seriously. Today, when I stormed into th
