The Surrey Police Service says it’s investigating after another business was targeted by gunfire overnight.
Police responded to reports of damage made by bullets Friday morning from the Newtown neighbourhood near 124 Street and 82nd Avenue.
“The business was closed at the time of the shooting, and nobody was injured or present in the business at the time,” said a police statement.
Investigators are on scene working to determine a motive. Currently, the SPS says “there are no established ties to any extortion investigations.”
“It’s the first thing that jumps to people’s minds. So that’s why we want to let the public know that that this isn’t one of those incidents or doesn’t at this stage appear to be one of the incidents,” explained Sgt. Tige Pollock.
