A $5,000 grant from the Alabama State Council on the Arts to benefit the Wiregrass Museum of Art’s Art and Design Challenge is a win-win for the Dothan community.

For the third year WMA has been awarded an ASCA grant to support the public art projects in the city that are a collaboration with local artists, architects, and students and educators from the Dothan City Schools Technology Center.

“A few years ago, we started partnering with DTC, specifically working with graphic arts, engineering and building construction program students,” Dana-Marie Lemmer, WMA Executive Director said Thursday. “The students do research about public art and creative place making, and then present ideas for what they want to build for our community.”
