A somber memorial is growing in Rockville near where a school bus hit and killed an 11-year-old middle school student on Thursday .

Summer Lim, a student at Earle B. Wood Middle School, was the victim, Montgomery County police said Friday. Her classmates were on board the bus as she biked home.

At Bauer Drive and Russett Road, community members left flowers and a teddy bear to honor Lim.

“I wanted to just leave a memorial for her. I’ve been praying for her,” neighbor Liesl Ament said.

Lim was a sixth grader. Police say she was riding her bike home from school at about 3 p.m. when she was hit by the bus. Both she and the bus were headed east on Bauer Drive, according to the initial investigation. The bus driver turne
