SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Monday, the CDC updated some of its immunization recommendations for adults and children.

These decisions were based on recent recommendations from the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices.

Decisions on COVID vaccines can be made individually.

The Siouxland District Health responded this afternoon to these changes.

Tyler Brock with the Siouxland District Health Department said, “There are actually very little changes. We were anticipating a lot of things, and it ended up not being a whole lot. One thing that they recommend is that the MMR vaccine that is combined with Varicella (V), that not be what’s given at the youngest age levels. So, if you do want the MMR shot with the varicella included in it, that you not give that until later on.”
