WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - A Watertown eatery chose to serve up lunch at a discount for soldiers who are working without getting paid during the government shutdown.

Jean’s Beans sent lunches out the door with half-off prices for active duty soldiers on Friday.

“I think this is the least we can do because they sacrifice so much for us and they’re the reason we have the freedoms we do, so I’m more than happy to do this,” said owner Jane Bowman.

The shutdown is in its 10th day, with Congress still deadlocked.
