TOWN OF WATERTOWN, New York (WWNY) - Plans for a Circle K gas station and a Jimmy John’s on outer Coffeen Street have hit a snag.

The plot of land is located in the town of Watertown and served by a city-owned sewer line. That means the construction of a planned Circle K is going to have to be a collaborative effort between the city and town.

“We absolutely are collaborating. We had a great meeting earlier in the week. There’s some things they’re going to look at doing. There’s some things we’re doing,” said

Watertown City Manager Eric Wagenaar.

It falls along the city’s western outfall trunk sewer basin. That’s the same basin whose dilapidated state and excessive overflow saw the state slap the city with a fine back in 2023 because of environmental issues.
