JANESVILLE, Wis. (WKOW) — Clinic employees at Mercyhealth East marked 100 days of striking on Friday, demanding change and standing in solidarity.

Striking workers accuse Mercyhealth of prioritizing profits over patients, while surviving on less than a third of their normal wages.

"We have been walking the picket line now for 100 days. We are waiting for Mercy to give us our response to our last proposal," Sandy Welch, a medical transcriptionist, said.

The proposal, submitted on Sept. 23, calls for higher wages, more affordable health insurance, and increased safety protections. Medical lab technician Natalie Colden emphasized safety concerns.

"Personally, I was followed one day, and it was kind of scary," Colden said.
