“He whined and screamed constantly, so we really wanted to make his last day a day where we would also remember him being joyful,” Coeli told the .

It’s been a rough year for the couple who also lost their 20-year-old cat, Snuffles, Manolo’s best friend, this past summer.

The couple was taking their senior dog to physiotherapy and chiropractic appointments weekly and even gifted a wheelchair, yet while Manolo was gaining strength and regaining his natural gait, his dementia progressed.
