POTSDAM, New York (WWNY) - A 25-year member of Potsdam Town & Country Club did something that most golfers can only dream about: scoring a hole-in-one, not once, but twice.

Willard Witherell says he sank a hole-in-one and then came back the next day and did it again!

“It’s just unbelievable,” he said. “It just happens. It’s pure luck.”

Julian Dicker, the country club’s pro shop assistant, says this year, there have been five holes-in-one at the course, which is typical. But what Willard did is something that has never occurred there.

“We have our own history book compiled by some of our members. They did a great job, and I read it cover to cover just to make sure it’s never happened before and there’s no indication anything ever close to it happened,” he said.
