TAMAQUA, Pa. — Food is top of mind for many people as the holiday season approaches later this year. While some already know what they're filling their plates with, others don't have that luxury.

For 14 years, The Tamaqua Hunger Campaign has helped ensure hundreds of families in the area have food on their plates. What started as a small walk for hunger in Tamaqua turned into a month-long campaign every October to serve those families in need.

"The one place in town that gives out food twice a month, and the street that they're in town, you know, not to even go on that street when they're giving out food, because it's a traffic jam and so many people. There is such a great need," says Judy Hoppes, a member of The Tamaqua Hunger Campaign.
