ELKINS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A West Virginia pastor is facing serious charges after authorities say he used a computer to solicit a minor.
Kevin Jones, 33, who served as lead pastor at Summit Church in Elkins, was arrested on October 2 following an investigation by the Mountain Region Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
In addition to the initial charge of soliciting a minor via computer, Jones now faces an additional count of exhibiting material depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the West Virginia Division of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
Public records show Jones remains in custody at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail, where his bond has been set at $50,000 for each charge.
Summit Church’s Facebook page lists Jones as its lead pastor as of 2023.
