OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – City officials are asking for the public’s help after new playground equipment at Oak Hill City Park was vandalized less than a day after it was installed.

According to the Oak Hill Parks and Recreation Department, the damage occurred overnight and was discovered early Friday morning.

Some of the new equipment had been in place for fewer than 24 hours before being defaced.

“We ask that the community report to 911 any activity in our public spaces that is abhorrent,” the department said in a public statement.

City officials emphasized that the entire park is under police surveillance, with cameras on site to help identify those responsible.
