WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — The Warwick Police Department said a man was taken into custody after suffering from an apparent ‘mental health crisis’ on Friday.
Police performed a welfare check at a home on Main Avenue after receiving a report from police from Derby, Connecticut.
A resident let officers into the residence and found the man locked in his room.
After speaking with he man and determining he was in crisis, officers were able to get him to exit the room, and he was transported to the hospital.
Police said no charges had been filed and the incident was under investigation.
