BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A mistrial was declared after jurors failed to reach a verdict in the trial of a woman charged with resisting arrest, the foreperson saying there was disagreement over whether body-worn camera footage showed resistance, according to the Public Defender's Office.

The defendant, referred to as "Ms. Givan," is due back in court next week. The mistrial was declared earlier this month.

Jurors repeatedly viewed the footage of the incident, a Public Defender's Office release said.

"The fact that the jury could not agree -- even after reviewing the same few seconds of footage again and again -- speaks volumes," Deputy Public Defender Rosezetta Upshaw said in the release.
