TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KETK) -- Two individuals are accused of trying to pay their water utility bill with methamphetamine and a forged check after dropping off an envelope overnight in Trinity County.

The Trinity County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to the Westwood Shores Municipal Utility District Office on Wednesday after employees opened an envelope from the overnight drop box and found a check and a plastic bag with a powdery substance.

Law enforcement confirmed it was methamphetamine, and the check had been forged. On Thursday morning, the sheriff's office searched the house at the related address, where they discovered more methamphetamine.
