GREEN BAY, Wis. (WBAY) - One person was hurt after a fire on Green Bay’s east side on Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to an apartment complex on the 500 block of Clement Street around 11:45 p.m. on Thursday.

Fire officials say the fire was out when crews arrived and that a man was burned when he tried to carry a burning pan filled with grease out of the apartment.

He was taken to a hospital and is in stable condition.

The damage was limited to the stovetop and microwave above. Officials say the cause of the fire is unattended cooking
