The Sarasota Police Department saved a kitten that was stuck in the wheel well of a stopped vehicle on Oct. 3.

The kitten sprinted across multiple lanes of traffic on U.S. 301, crawling into a vehicle's wheel well.

A bodycam video released by the Sarasota Police Department shows the driver of the stopped vehicle alerting the officer to the kitten's strange hiding place.

The officer crawled underneath the vehicle with a towel to carefully retrieve the kitten from the undercarriage before transporting it to safety.

The kitten is now safe with Sarasota County Animal Services.
