FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Fairhope, get ready to “Eat Mor Chikin” because a new Chick-fil-A is coming to town.

The city's first Chick-fil-A will be built in the Plantation Pointe shopping center, where the old Ruby Tuesday's restaurant was. Demolition of the old building and foundation is already underway, clearing a spot for the new restaurant.

"I think it's a great location," Fairhope resident Shannon Baldwin said. "It, of course, will add to traffic, but I think it's a big enough footprint where they're putting it that it should flow pretty well."

"I think it'll be a nice addition, especially if you're in a hurry," Fairhope resident Anne Dorman said. "We frequently walk around downtown Fairhope and sit down to eat, but there's always a time when we need to eat on the run."
