BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
Old sofas, beer bottles and construction waste. This street in Roebuck has become a favorite spot for illegal dumping.
Becky Wallace is the neighborhood president and said, “They dump their trash. They dump animals out here. Stray dogs. We have dogs that are breeding, and we have contractors coming out dumping roofing and lumber and all their trash from doing their remodeling.”
David McCroey is the vice president and said, “There used to be houses in this area. And once the people started moving out, this is what's happened since then.”
Residents said when they report the trash, the city will come in and clean it up, but a few days later, more trash appears.
