Following last week’s announcement that consideration of the Northern Corridor project had resumed, longtime supporters and opponents once again voiced their positions.

The Bureau of Land Management announced Friday that a new public comment period opened for the Northern Corridor and potential alternatives after the previously preferred option was deemed unviable.

The new comment period runs through Nov. 3. Comments can be submitted online under the “Participate Now” option on the BLM’s National Environmental Policy Act Registry page .

The proposed Northern Corridor would be a four-lane, 4-mile roadway running through portions of the Red Cliffs Desert Reserve and Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, running from Washington Parkway to Red Cliffs Parkway.
