ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- A portion of Interstate 86 Eastbound is shut down this weekend, for a culvert replacement project.

Interstate 86 between Exit 56 (Elmira) and Exit 57 (Lowman/Wellsburg) is closed down in the eastbound lane, effective 7 P.M. Friday, October 10. The closure is expected to last until Sunday, October 12 at 7 A.M.

Drivers should expect delays; detours will be in place on State Routes 352, 14, and 427 between Elmira and Wellsburg.

According to the New York State Department of Transportation, construction activities are subject to change, due to conditions and weather.
