(WENY) -- Governor Kathy Hochul has announced a $10-million investment to launch the SUNY Brain Institute, a statewide initiative aimed at expanding neuroscience research across New York’s public universities.
According to the governor’s office, the new institute will fund shared equipment and research infrastructure at campuses including SUNY Albany, Binghamton, Buffalo, Stony Brook, Upstate Medical, and Downstate Health Sciences University.
Hochul called the project a “smart, strategic investment in neuroscience research that will improve lives,” adding that SUNY campuses are already leading groundbreaking work in the field.
