WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - Students from Wellington High School gathered Friday in support of a school bond that is up for vote on Nov. 4.
The $22,000,000 bond for the Wellington School District aims to improve infrastructure in schools across the district. Students who were out rallying in support of the bond said it will improve many aspects of their school.
“It’s in really rough shape, and I don’t know if people know how bad it is,” said Lyndi Barton, a senior at Wellington High School.
One important issue the students brought up is the temperature. “Our school is very cold, and in the winter, we’re gonna need to get our heat upgraded. We won’t be going to school in the winter most likely, unless we get it fixed,” said Georgia Shinliver, a sophomore at Wellington High School.
