PORTSMOUTH, Va. — Gunshots were reported near I.C. Norcom High School during their Friday night football game, a spokesperson with Portsmouth schools said.

The stadium was cleared, and there were no injuries reported, the spokesperson said, but principals of both I.C. Norcom and Churchland High Schools — who were playing each other at I.C. Norcom — released the following statement to families:

Good evening, Churchland and I.C. Norcom families -

This evening, during the final seconds of the Churchland/I.C. Norcom High School football game, gunshots were fired in the streets near the I.C. Norcom campus. In partnership with the Portsmouth Sheriff's Office, we were able to safely and efficiently clear the stadium. We will now continue to work with law enforcement as they investigate and sea
