PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a man in west Phoenix on Thursday evening.

It happened in the area of 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road in the Marvyale neighborhood around 5:30 p.m.

Police said when officers arrived, they found the man, whose name hasn’t been released, had been shot at least once. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and processed the scene. No other information was released.
