Organisers of this year's Matlock Bath illuminations are warning people to be prepared and plan their trip to the sold-out event on Saturday (October 11), as it promises to be the busiest night of the season so far.
The combination of a weather forecast predicting sunshine throughout Saturday and the illuminations and fireworks in the evening are expected to bring crowds to the village - dubbed "little Switzerland" by poet Lord Byron in the 19th century - from early morning.
A message has been put out on social media by the organisers, which said: "As we approach what promises to be our busiest night of the 2025 illuminations season so far, please plan ahead and consider our slick park and ride service if you have Illuminations tickets or are just planning to come along to watch the 8.
