EMORY, Va. – The latest victory by the dudes from Damascus was sparked by Eli Tweed and a European import.

Tweed scored four touchdowns, while exchange student Benjamin Wuerz from Germany was a force on defense and special teams as the Holston Cavaliers posted a 30-20 win over the Patrick Henry Rebels on Friday night in a Hogoheegee District game between Washington County rivals.

Holston (5-2, 1-1) gave a major boost to its playoff hopes by controlling the final three quarters and getting impressive performances from a reliable running back and a newcomer who a month ago hadn’t even seen a high school football game.

Tweed reeled off a 49-yard touchdown sprint on a buck sweep on Holston’s first play from scrimmage as the Cavaliers took the lead 21 seconds into the contest.
