Barbara Stone Foundation’s CAN Talks event will return on Oct. 21.
Community members will have the opportunity to hear personal stories and life experiences from six Upstate individuals living with disabilities. The 6th annual event will take place at Centre Stage in downtown Greenville.
Lara Ceisel, executive director of Barbara Stone Foundation, said the local nonprofit organization created CAN Talks so that individuals living with a disability could share the contributions they have made to the community despite the challenges and barriers they face every day.
“The 2025 speakers have developed their speech from a place of vulnerability and share deeply personal information to broaden our community’s perspectives about disabilities, showcasing their self-advocacy skills,” Ceisel said.
