HURRICANE -- William Johnson is seeking a cure for hiccups.

"Just getting the ball in the hole," said Johnson, a George Washington senior golfer and co-medalist with Hurricane's Isaac Hayes in the Class AAAA South Region tournament, said of how he needs to improve his game before the state tournament next Tuesday and Wednesday. "I've been hitting the ball well all summer. Tee to green, I'm pretty solid. Once we get to the green, there's a little hiccup. The [region tournament] was better with decision-making."

Johnson and fellow senior Lee Willard lead the Patriots into the state tournament on the par-71, 6,605-yard Jones Course at the Oglebay Resort in Wheeling. GW finished second by eight strokes to Hurricane on Tuesday in the rain-soaked region tournament at the Sleepy Hollow Golf Clu
