In the aftermath of the clash yesterday along the Assam-Meghalaya border in West Karbi Anglong in Assam where a Karbi youth died, former Meghalaya Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Dr Mukul Sangma has blamed both the Assam and Meghalaya governments for what he described as a “serious intelligence failure.” He asserted that the absence of a “robust preventive mechanism” led to the escalation of violence along the sensitive inter-state border.
