After much public debate and several trips back the drawing board, the Clear Lake City Council will choose one of these four site options on Monday, Oct. 20, for the proposed Oaks Hotel at the former Hilltop Motel property in the Surf District:
Option 1 would close Seventh Avenue North to create a cul-de-sac at the guest parking lot to be built northeast of the hotel. The hotel would have 68 rooms. There would be a green space shared by the hotel and the Music Experience Center. This is the initial plan proposed by the hotel development team.
Option 2 would leave Seventh Avenue North where it is. The hotel would have 63 rooms. A green space would be created in front of the hotel.
