Trinity Christian School showed resilience in the face of a mighty foe Friday night in a 38-21 home loss to undefeated AAA Region 2 opponent Troup County.
The loss was not without its bright spots, however. Trinity was able to rally to take the lead after falling behind 17-0 in the first quarter. The comeback was propelled by a tremendous effort from senior running back Bakari Hamilton, who ran the ball 22 times for 237 yards and a touchdown. He also eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark for the season.
The Lions fell behind early, as mistakes on both sides of the ball led to a long Tiger touchdown run and a pick-six in the first four minutes of the game. Troup added a booming 49-yard field goal to jump out to a 17-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
