Punjabi folk singer Gurmeet Singh Maan, also known for his service as an ASI in the Punjab Police, has died. The folk singer had a history of heart problems and died of heart complications. Following his death, his family took him to his native village, Hardowal, near Fatehgarh Churiya in Gurdaspur district, where his last rites were performed.

Although Maan lived in Gilco Colony, Ropar, he was originally from Hardowal village near Jalandhar. He was a regular participant in the annual Gurudwara events of Zinda Shaheed and the 32 KV program in Noorpur Bedi village, Ropar, where he had many devoted fans. His sudden death two days ago has left the community in mourning.
