LANE COUNTY, Ore. (WPTA) - A 41-year-old man accused of pointing a gun at an officer during Fort Wayne church’s live nativity scene last year was taken into police custody in Oregon earlier this week.

Tyler Leavitt’s arrest comes after a warrant for his arrest was issued by Allen Superior Court Judge Fran Gull when he failed to appear failed to appear for a hearing in the case in July.

According to Lane County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon, one of its deputies located a suspicious truck parked on a road in U.S. Forest Service land north of Florence, Oregon, around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, and made contact with the driver, identified as Leavitt.

Once aware of his warrant, officers say they attempted to arrest Leavitt, but were unsuccessful.
